The New Look

I had told myself that I wasn't going to post pictures of the new look but I am so proud of Connor for being such a trooper with this I couldn't resist! Right now we are looking at 4 months with the helmet! He has to wear the helmet 23 hours a day. The only time we are to take it off is for cleaning and bathing. He has what is called brachiocephaly and plagiocephaly (I may have spelled these wrong). Basically in lay terms he has a flat spot on the back side and front side of his head. He found comfort in lying on this spot any time he laid on his back. With the fear of SIDS, we now lay babies back to sleep which makes this more common with babies. Luckily, this day and age we have medical advances such as his helmet to allow his skull to correct it's growth. It was an education to our entire family (especially having one child who this did not happen to) so if this message can educate any new mommy out there I hope it does!!

Connor did great yesterday, doesn't seem to bother him at all. Mallory could have used it when she hit her head. LOL

I think there will be more times when the helmet would come in handy to Mallory. She fell off the chair tonight too!!
